After yet another storm, in which it rained and snowed for days but nothing ever accumulated, it seems like the weather is finally warming up again. I spent yesterday in a tank top at the barn (and got a little toasted, too).
The plan is to take advantage of the weather, and start spending more time with my horses, especially riding time. Panama needs regular riding, and I need to start riding Rondo more often too, so that he doesn't totally forget how to work with me.
I didn't ride yesterday, but I did turn both of my horses out together. They were both feeling pretty saucy, and I got a lot of great pictures of them running and playing.
Panama had tons of energy, as you can see by his Arab tail:
Rondo did too, and was enjoying keeping up with Panama! (Yes, Panama is faster than Rondo, despite how much littler he is.)
I love it when they match strides when they run together, which they seem to be doing a lot of lately. This picture would be amazing if Rondo was a touch closer so that his tail wasn't cropped out.
Enjoying the scenery...
While they were taking a breather, I knelt down and was looking at my phone. Both horses came up behind me to see what I was doing, so I took advantage of the opportunity to get some candid selfies.
Finally, a funny story. I laid the lunge whip on the ground, and Rondo decided to come check it out. Hilarity ensued...
It was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. Panama looks a little harassed, doesn't he?
Such a beautiful afternoon with horses!
