Off to a rough (and wet) start
I have to admit I haven't gotten out to the barn once since joining the summer horsemanship challenge over the weekend. People are posting picture of their rides and training sessions left and right, and I still haven't made it out to the barn at all.
There are a couple of reasons for that: weather, and just plain me being busy (as usual).
I was pretty busy on Sunday, the first full day of the challenge. I was still dog sitting for the kids' dog while their whole family was in Aspen for the weekend, so I took him on a playdate in the morning. In the afternoon I worked on my blog writing for Camp NaNoWriMo, and then took the dog home before my dinner-and-a-movie-plans for the evening.
Yesterday was a dreary day, overcast all day and raining off and on for most of it. Even though I had more time yesterday, I opted not to go to the barn because of the rain.
Today has been a disaster. I've been busy all day long, mostly with deadlines for client work. I did reschedule and cancel a few things to make my day easier, but I've still been quite busy, and expect to continue to be so throughout the evening.
I do have plans around midday tomorrow, but hopefully I'll be able to spend some time at the barn later in the day -- rain or shine, as it doesn't look like we'll see much sun until Thursday.
I'll have some catching up to do if I want to keep on track in the challenge -- 25 rides works out to just over 3 rides a week, and nearly half of this week is already gone!
