Count to ten

I am practicing the art of giving myself time to cool down before blogging something I might regret. In the meantime, I urge my readers to remember there are always two sides to every story.

Good plan - people sometimes take offense even when we don't mean to cause it - different people have different opinions but we're all on the journey with our horses, and that's what counts.

Whenever something bothers me, I try to remember to ask myself - "Will this matter in 5 years?"

Sending good wishes your way, and hope that any hurts are soon healed!

Kate, thanks for your comment. The five years thing is a good way of looking at it. I go back and forth between wanting to defend myself, and wanting to just not say anything at all -- the justification for the latter being that very reason. None of it matters in the long run, but how much is it worth to me to defend myself in the short run?

I have written two or three drafts saved on my blog, but not published them. Every time I can't stand it anymore and write something, I get it off my chest and then force myself to wait before publishing it. I'm glad I did that last night, and posted about Panama's bath instead, because when I woke up in the morning I knew I definitely would have regretted that post if I hadn't waited.

Thanks for the good wishes. I think they are helping already. :o)

I think you owe me an email. After all, writing about something privately instead of publicly still gets it off your mind. ;o)
