Denver man gets a drunk riding ticket!

I didn't even know this was possible, but a Denver man got a ticket for drunk riding!

Apparently while under the influence he decided it would be a good idea to take his horse, Crickett, for a "joyride" through a Denver suburb.

Too funny:

Police say deciding what to do with the horse was a "tricky call" because "you can tow a car" in typical drunk driving cases.

Eventually someone with a trailer gave him and the horse a ride home.

This is the first time I've heard of a "drunk riding" citation. I didn't even know it was possible — after all, the horse isn't drunk, and if his rider is most likely he's doing most of the driving (poor guy).

Have you ever heard of anyone getting a riding under the influence ticket before?

Only in Colorado would he get a ticket for it, I hope you mean. In the Midwest or the South the sheriff probably would have cheered him on. ;o)

That's so funny. I'd have never believed something like that could happen. How did anyone know he was drunk? Was his horse weaving?

Now if the horse was Gilly he would be drinking too! LOL Gilly boy LOVES beer! I should post pictures of him drinking out of a beer can with it running down his chin! What a boy!!!!

I don't think I've heard of horses liking beer before -- just dogs! LOL. Supposedly Panama doesn't like the smell of beer on your breath, but I've never tested the theory. That's just what my sister-in-law told me, but I think it's more likely he just didn't like her.

LOL, funny, he probably didn't like her! The last horse I had liked beer, my neighbors pony likes beer. Gilly is like a garbage disposal, he will eat just about anything! Loves all kinds of fruit, bread, beer, Little Debbie oatmeal cakes, coffee and more. My husband sometimes will give him his cold coffee from an insulated mug. We don't let him have much, I'm sure it's not good for him. If you are eating it or drinking it he wants it!!

Jane, that's amazing. I haven't given Panama a chance to get too excited about people food, but he does seem to get pretty interested anytime someone is walking around with a soda or a slushee.
