Not something you see every day

I'm not sure which this video is a stronger argument against: horse-drawn carriages or keeping stallions. Though of course, there's no guarantee this was a stallion — I've seen geldings get awfully excited and even mount mares. Apparently it doesn't take testicles to know when the ladies are in season.

Anyway, here is the video:

It cracks me up how the rider keeps yelling "Whoa!" — as if that's going to do any good! — but I was horrified when they started kicking the poor horse in the genitals.

That's outrageous! I had to watch it three times with my mouth hanging open.

Yeah, that was pretty much my response, too. :o)

I think if I were the carriage owner, with paying customers...a bride and groom with sweet little flower girls posing with the carriage...I'd have been kicking that stallion in the crotch, too!

Shame on that rider. She obviously had zip control of her horse and shouldn't have been riding him near mares, especially in public.

People think that stallions can be kept and not get the urge to mate, but that urge is uncontrollable in most stallions, especially by inexperienced riders.

What an awful thing to experience on your wedding day. gah!
I'm glad the people weren't hurt at least.

I agree with your assessment of the rider and her responsibilities. (Though I thought the rider was a guy...)

I still don't think they should have been kicking the stallion in the genitals, particularly after they already had him away from the mare.

And, yeah, I'd hate for that to have happened at MY wedding. Although perhaps they could take it as an omen of a fertile relationship? ;o)
